Andrew used his fingertips to outline Selena’s face, trying to memorize each line in the dark. He took a deep breath, listening to her sleep. She was absolute perfection. Each and every touch, she relished and wanted more.

“Are you asleep?” Sam asked.

Andrew moved his fingertips down the side of her body, feeling the curve of her breast, her tummy, and her hip. “No,” he whispered back, not wanting to wake Selena. He couldn’t seem to stop touching her soft skin. It was becoming a new addiction, one he didn’t want to ever stop.

“She’s amazing,” Sam said, his voice full of awe, but Andrew already knew that.

“I’m serious about moving, Sam. I wanted to before meeting Selena, and now, I don’t want to go back to Santa Fe at all.” He wasn’t sure if this was the right time or place to have this conversation. He knew that they were in the very beginning stages of a relationship, but he couldn’t help but wonder if she was the one they had been searching for. Every other woman he had been with paled in comparison.

“Let’s talk about it later. I’m just not sure this is the right time.” Andrew shook his head. Sam always said the same thing. When would there be a right time?

Andrew pulled Selena tighter in his arms, her breath fanned out against his chest, and he felt a peace he hadn’t in a long time. Having this woman between the two of them made him feel complete in a way he hadn’t before. It was odd, but he knew that if Sam didn’t want to move to Spirit, that he would still stay behind. They had never been separated before, but deep in his heart he knew that he wouldn’t be going back to Santa Fe, except, of course, to pack his things.

Closing his eyes, he relaxed against the soft mattress and focused on Selena’s breathing. It didn’t take long for him to fall into a deep sleep.
